Diwali

It is usually around November

India, because it is where Hindu is and this festival of light is a hindu festival

Women wear elegant sarees made from a variety of materials such as cotton, silk, velvet and chiffon. Men wear a kurta and dhoti.

You can celebrate by dressing in colourful clothing, lighting the inside and outside of homes with lamps, and lighting fireworks.

Chinese New Year

It all depends on the year. This year it was February and next year it is January the 1st.

Originally it was celebrated in china but it is still celebrated all around the world. Following AMAZING celebrations 

Chinese new year was made over 35,000 years ago! Which is about in 1046 BC.

The  most common food includes dumplings, fish, spring rolls, and niango( a rice cake)

The celebrations can last up to 2 weeks!

Chinese normally wear red or brightly coloured clothes to show a festive mood. If you were to wear black or white clothes it would show sadness and mourning which is not good

One of the biggest traditions include a parade with costumes floats and fake Chinese dragons

Mardis Gras

Mardi gras is traditionally celebrated on “Fat Tuesday”. Which is on February the 16.

It is celebrated in well it’s celebrated ALL around the world is like America and RIO

Mardi gras was first celebrated in 1703 

Since mardi gras is on fat Tuesday you can eat as much different food as you possibly can

The celebrations go for about 2 weeks and by the time it is finished, it will be shove Tuesday.

Lots of different costumes which are brightly coloured

Large floats and a WHOLE stadium just for Mardi gras.

Dia De Los Muertos

Mexico celebrates Day of the dead with a 2 day holiday between 31 October and 2 November every year 

Oaxaca,

Mexico City,

And  Merida

Once the Spanish overtook Aztek in the 16th century, the catholic church decided to have  celebrations and rituals to honour those who died

Sugar skulls to represent the deceased skulls of those that died,

And Bread to represent the departed souls

For 2 days

Special makeup and costumes which look like Skeletons

Sugar skulls, decorated altars to honour those who have passed and painted faces like skulls to show what the people that died look like now.



Hello my fellow bloggers! Hope life is going great! So today ( as in 2 weeks ago) we have been learning about differnt celebrations for recoripical reading. Miss Farr ( my teacher ) said that this term and the next we are learning about celebrations. I thought this task was sooo long! But i think i did pretty good.
